Container deposit return scheme for New Zealand
A container deposit return scheme is a practical, cost effective way to help New Zealanders reduce litter, waste less and recycle more. Schemes are already being used in 57 countries and states to collect drink containers and cover the real cost of recycling. Surveys show 80% of New Zealanders want a container deposit return scheme here. Many fondly remember returning bottles to claim deposits in the 1970s and 1980s.
Love Food Hate Waste
https://lovefoodhatewaste.co.nz/
Love Food Hate Waste NZ exists to empower New Zealanders to take action on household food waste — an issue costing over $3 billion each year. Established under WasteMINZ in 2016 as part of the global Love Food Hate Waste movement founded by WRAP, we work with councils, community groups, and industry partners nationwide to disrupt the take-make-waste cycle. Guided by research and driven by collaboration, we deliver evidence-based campaigns and practical tools that help households reduce waste, save money, and lower their environmental impact.
